Aksa Energy announced that it has applied for licenses for 13 electricity storage facilities that will exceed a total installed capacity of 1.8 GW.
According to the statement published by the company on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the applications were made by Aksa Aksen Energy Trading Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.
The statement noted that a total of 1,813 MW of new installed power storage capacity is planned to be created within the scope of the applications.
With the amendment made to the Electricity Market Law in July of last year, energy investors who commit to investing in electricity storage have been granted the right to obtain licenses without participating in tenders for their wind and/or solar power plant investments that they want to make proportionate to the installed capacity of this investment.
